“The future art generation”

This project was created to highlight the concerns from an artistic perspective with so much AI imagery being spread across the internet and the impact this is having across the creative sector – is this the future art generation?

The word generation was intentionally used as a play on words for both the way images are being generated through prompts and the next generation of artists growing up in a world full of artificial intelligence.

The butterfly was the subject for the painting and a soft focus to nature and reality, whilst contrasting the technology present at a traditional canvas surrounded by lots of pencils, paint and a wooden mannequin.

I took a range of butterfly photographs shown in the visual at a butterfly centre and then mapped them onto the 3D mesh and also applied it as a texture that was polypainted to the canvas.

The ZModeler brush was used for each of the subtool elements alongside fibremesh for the bristles and no AI was used in the creation of this piece!
